Closing the Gaps

Welcome to the ASSETS Research Group led by Dr. Alegra Eroy-Reveles, assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at San Francisco State University (SFSU).

Members of the ASSETS Research Group work passionately to increase the number of underrepresented and first-generation college students graduating with STEM degrees. Our work is focused on designing and implementing curricular activities for STEM students that increase their motivation to pursue STEM degrees. We work closely with SF BUILD and the Center for Science and Math Education to achieve these goals. (For more information, see Collaborations.)

Our work helps students develop the interest, self-efficacy, sense of belonging and science identity. We invite you to get to know who we are, what we do, how we do it and join us in changing the face of science for the greater good.
